About Us >>
Mayflor Farms is a member of Georgia Organics and Community Farmers Market.
We are proof that organic farming is possible, healthy and delicious.
Mayflor Farms strives to build a locally sustainable future for ourselves and our community for food security and education.
From our biome to your microbiome
A biome is a community of animals and plants occupying a habitat. A microbiome is a community of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, that inhabit a particular environment, such as your intestines, or the soil.
Research over the last 20 years has shown that our digestive system is basically a universe populated by numerous different organisms including bacteria and fungi. All of these interact with each other, with us, and with the nutrient stream flowing by. These interactions are now suspected to have a profound impact upon our health and well-being.
We believe that the same applies to all organisms. Therefore, we strive to create a rich soil microbiome in which our plants grow, in the belief that this will result in better plants, and better nutrition.
